Due to popular demand, TGIF is back on the system. Talk group changed to 227 so use that. Someone grabbed up 184 when I made a mistake so we're now back on 227. We also have AmComm if you want to use that at 31052 so 2 ways to DMR now. The dashboard is at https://tgif.na0d.com/dvswitch/ and I'll update the site shortly.

We did some major backend upgrades today. Sorry if you seen connections bouncing a little today but the work is done and we're in good shape.

Well, after a week or more of long work, my network and by extension, many adjunct AUXCOMM facilities are now on a full tunnel, DUAL WAN system. Huh? Stuff is fed with fiber...if fiber dies, rolls over to CGNAT. Since the NOC is in a tunnel, it has a consistent IP that allows incoming connections no matter whats feeding it. And it works! So now,…

"We build too many walls and not enough bridges." — Isaac Newton I dont know if that's exactly what he said, but I tend to like this one more: "Sometimes you get the best light from a burning bridge." — Don Henley Anyway, I have a P25 reflector built and working that's transmitting in and out of the repeater system. P25 has always been my…

Had a few issues with the YSF Reflector but they're fixed today. Everything is up and running again. If you connect via a Pi or some hotspot, you'll need to pull an update/updated file (or your Pi/agent) should download its update overnight like it always does. All fixed. Now I'll leave it alone awhile.

As of this evening (5/25/26), I have moved my DMR bridge to the AmComm Network. AmComm is a global DMR provider like others, but its based here in Arkansas and I'm a sucker for the home turf. Sounds great, and really appreciate them moving us over. The bridge(s) have been updated and things will propagate across the DMR-verse over the next 24 hours or so.

Repeaters have been updated with CWID for regular traffic. I does have a voice ID at the top of each hour from 7AM to 10PM each day. There is no top of the hour ID or voice ID after 10PM. As much as I love my voice ID, we're going to make it a little less disruptive over the day while maintaining FCC requirements. Until…

SO this weekend I put into service a new POCSAG/DAPNET wide area transmitter. The radio feeding it 25 watts at 439.9875 MHz is in Mountain Home for now as we do some proof of performance testing. I am going to amplify the signal eventually but even at 25 watts pagers are getting pages 15 miles out. This is great! We'll use this for AUXCOMM but…

If you were having issues with my YSF today, you're not alone. The entire NA0D YSF Reflector has been moved to the cloud. Bookmarks should be updated as well as your hosts list in your pi-star or other gateway object. We're still at 11184 US-NA0D-AR so once your pi-star updates its host file (or you run a manual update) it should work again. We moved…

So, amateur radio operators use old tech, new tech, and tech all in between. Check out the POCSAG and DAPNET pager stuff we've been doing. It has some pretty cool notification uses for EMCOMM and AUXCOMM and is finding more popularity amongst those teams. Let's decode it and for a few bucks, you can get pages just like your grandpa did. :) Page is located…

Winslow GMRS repeater will be down for awhile. Going to move some parts around. Back soon! APRS iGate has been placed at the Winslow site for a while while, well, I move some parts around haha! More to come.

Well, at least the storms are. This past Saturday had a couple of sites out. I had to replace a power supply at Mountain View to get that back on the air, and thanks to Jon, K5DVT, for stopping at Brentwood to help me remote login to fix a boo-boo I did a week ago with a new VPN. Didn't know it til the power…

If the system goes on and off for a little today, changing over a UPS and redoing some powering to make the system more robust. Unless something else starts on fire, this will be done 2/18/26 by the PM.

I've got a second APRS digipeater going in here in Marion County. There are a few of the fellas that are getting into it and I'm gonna play with them. I may just make it a digi (plenty of gates) just to help expand the coverage. I need a diplexer so I can add it to an existing antenna that will improve coverage. I'm going…

Well if anyone was paying attention yesterday, I lost the little mini computer that ran my NA0D Hub. After saving the hard drive, cloning it into a new computer, messing with IP addressing and routing, rebuilding and installing backups, as well as general hijinks, it was back up last night after some hours. The hub is now on a major improvement of a computer, echolink…

I have a Broadcastify feed at NA0D Broadcastify that I've moved to its own node/seperate server. It used to run in the hub but any issues with it would require me to restart the hub, thus possibly dropping connections. Now, I can bounce the feed while I leave the hub alone, and can also disconnect if I see fit. This should help operations improve! Other…

The system is up the best it can be. I've done some tests, reboots, and made sure what works can work. My system is ready as it can be. I know some of my peers worked on some repeaters also and got them going, as well as many others checking their stuff to make sure its as operational as it can be. I salute all…

Happy New Year! Well, I was out fixing this week! What did we accomplish? Pushing forward for amateur radio and Arkansas Auxcomm in 2026!

Well, all my background gear is now happy in a fiber fed, climate controlled place. Went through and cleaned everything nice and during all of this, found the Flippin repeater had no output. Like ZERO power output. Boo, Bridgecom. I'll be sending this off soon. In its place, there is an old school Kenwood TKR-820 brought back from the dead with a new PA and…

I will be doing some hub and Flippin repeater work today, as in relocating, moving and redoing some equipment. Connectivity may be intermittent throughout the day. There will be an alert banner up while this happens. When done, hopefully everything comes back to normal and the banner will clear. I don't know about the Flippin repeater though, thats got issues of its own. I'll post…

Well, in what I thought was going to take forever and actually only took a couple of hours, I've moved Echolink off my main hub and gave it its own node. Now, Echolink is actually portable and can be moved to individual repeaters or wherever I want, without any risk to the NA0D Hub. Audio sounds good and the system running it is strong enough…

I'm working on this new RSS feed so updates can be faster and shared easier for me and you the viewer, if ya care. Be patient. The "old" Updates page will be migrated shortly. Keep an eye on HERE for the stuff!

So, thank you to N5XFW for an oppportunity, we have "new" Internet access at the Brentwood site that doesnt come with all the caps and junk we've been dealing with for the last couple of years. We will keep an eye on it and make sure that its working fine but at this point, its got great signal and is pushing all the bits we…

This weekend we'll be updating all systems as much as possible. I'd do it in the Sunday window but it's already started. Things are running well. I'm learning how to get my updates to show easier so once I figure this out we'll do more.
